Boy, 16, stabbed to death on New Year’s Eve in London
A 16-year-old boy has been stabbed to death on New Year’s Eve in London.
A murder investigation has been launched following the fatal stabbing in Primrose Hill on Sunday night.
Police were called at around 11.40pm and officers gave first aid to the victim before ambulance crews arrived.
The boy was pronounced dead shortly before midnight.
A male has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is in police custody.
The victim’s family have been informed and they will be supported by specialist officers, the Metropolitan Police said.
Primrose Hill is a popular spot for people watching the fireworks on New Year’s Eve and police said it was busy at the time of the incident.
Extensive police cordons remain in place as forensic examinations of the scene and the surrounding area are carried out.
