First Minister Humza Yousaf’s brother-in-law has appeared in court charged in connection with alleged drug offences.
Ramsay El-Nakla, 36, is the brother of Mr Yousaf’s wife, Nadia El-Nakla.
El-Nakla was charged with supplying heroin and being in possession of cocaine and cannabis.
Police also arrested and charged 50-year-old Stephen Stewart and 41-year-old Victoria McGowan who appeared alongside El-Nakla at Dundee Sheriff Court.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called to a report of a break-in at a property on Balmoral Gardens in Dundee during the evening of Thursday 11 January.
“Three people – two men, aged 50 and 36, and a 41-year-old woman – were traced and all have been arrested and charged in connection with drug offences.”
Asked about the case earlier on Monday, Mr Yousaf said: “It would be inappropriate for me to comment at this stage.
“There may well be (a statement) but I’m very keen not be seen to interfere with any court case, let alone one involving my brother-in-law.”
