Rudy Giuliani ordered to pay $148m for false accusations against election workers

Rudy Giuliani has been ordered to pay a total of $148m for defaming two former Georgia election workers.

The former lawyer for Donald Trump falsely accused them of helping to rig the 2020 US presidential election.

The jury’s sole task in the trial was to determine how much the one-time New York mayor should pay Wandrea “Shaye” Moss and her mother Ruby Freeman, to compensate them for the reputational and emotional harm they suffered and to punish Giuliani for his conduct.
